Your teeth will darken over time. Changes in the color of your teeth can be caused by such factors as the food and beverages consumed (like coffee, tea and soda). Other known factors for discoloration may include childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use or improper oral hygiene. Restoring your natural white smile is a priority for our dental teeth whitening team. We can provide a variety of options for whitening your smile
Restoration of the underlying, natural tooth shade is possible by simply removing surface (extrinsic) stains (e.g. from tea, coffee, red wine and tobacco) and calculus (tartar). This is achieved by having the teeth cleaned by a dental professional (commonly termed "scale and polish".
Typically our professional whitening treatments last a year before a touchup is needed. Once again, it largely depends on how you care for your teeth and the kind of stains your teeth have.
After one visit you will notice whiter teeth, based on our methods of whitening. However, it typically takes around 24 hours to see the full results of the initial whitening treatment.
The first 24-48 hours after a patient receives a whitening treatment is important. We suggest trying to avoiding red wine and other dark-colored foods within this time frame. After the whitening process, teeth are more susceptible to staining. If you can’t resist your morning cup of coffee, we recommend using a straw.
Whitening treatments are fitting for most people. However, based on unique situations, it is best to schedule an appointment with one of our dentists to determine if you are the right candidate for this procedure.+ MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
